Smarter Late Charges: More Flexibility, More Fairness

At Juniorlogs, we are always looking for ways to help Centres save time, reduce admin headaches, and keep billing clear and consistent. One of the areas we know can be tricky is managing late charges — making sure families are billed fairly when attendance goes beyond booked or operating hours.

That is why we have introduced important updates to how late charges work in Juniorlogs, giving our admins greater control and flexibility than ever before.

What’s New?

Late charges are now centrally managed across the Centre, rather than within each individual fee, ensuring consistency in how these charges are applied. You can now choose whether late charges should be applied:

  1. Outside of centre operating hours
    – Charges apply when a child stays beyond your Centre’s opening or closing times.
  2. Outside of a child’s booked hours
    – Charges apply when a child attends beyond their individually booked session, even if the Centre is still open.

This flexibility makes billing more accurate, especially for children with customised booking times that don’t always match your Centre’s full operating hours.

Optional Grace Period

We understand that sometimes parents may run a few minutes late — life happens! To support this, you can now set grace minutes, giving families a short window of time before late charges kick in.

This helps Centres maintain fairness while also showing understanding in day-to-day situations.

Why This Matters

✔️ Fairer billing — Families are charged based on actual attendance outside agreed times.
✔️ Greater flexibility — Choose the late charge method that works best for your Centre.
✔️ Parent-friendly — The grace period option helps balance flexibility with fairness.
