Juniorlogs Gains Major Growth and Recognition After Securing Government Approval
In 2019, Juniorlogs reached a significant milestone when its Student Management System received approval from the New Zealand Ministry of Education. This endorsement enabled the widespread adoption of Juniorlogs across various educational settings, including Education and Care Centres and Home-based ECE Providers.
The approval also paved the way for major expansion, allowing Juniorlogs to form partnerships with over 400 Playcentres throughout New Zealand. Recognised for its rapid evolution and adaptability, Juniorlogs has grown into one of the country’s leading childcare management systems.
Committed to affordability and quality, Juniorlogs continuously refines its offerings by actively incorporating user feedback. This ensures the system remains functional, up-to-date, and equipped with new features to meet the evolving needs of early childhood education providers.
Journey of Growth and Achievement
Our journey began with a collaboration with KidReports USA, now owned by ProCare Childcare Management Solutions. Together, we aimed to bring a highly customised product to New Zealand’s early learning centres—one that provided real-time communication and peace of mind, making life easier for ECE professionals.
While KidReports had a strong following and dedicated users, the software faced two major challenges:
Slow Adoption – Many teachers struggled to embrace new technology, making implementation difficult.
High Development Costs – The slow adoption rate made it hard to justify further development and marketing investments.
Despite these hurdles, this experience laid the foundation for what was to come, shaping our vision for a truly tailored ECE Student Management System.
Between 2016 and 2017, while showcasing KidReports, we connected with the New Zealand Playcentre Federation. At the time, they relied on a paper-based system, with limited software options like APT, Infocare, and Firstbase, none of which suited their operational structure.
Recognising this gap, Playcentre Federation partnered with us to develop a bespoke Student Management System that met both MoE requirements and their unique organisational needs. This collaboration was a significant milestone, allowing us to refine Juniorlogs while supporting over 400 Playcentres across New Zealand for three years.
We are incredibly grateful to the Playcentre Federation for their trust and support in our early development years!
With the determination to develop and deliver the best technology to NZ ECE Providers, we continued further development of the software. What started as a pilot project became a fully functional system with approval from the Ministry of Education around mid-2019. MOE has also approved Juniorlogs Student Management System for the use of Education and Care Centres and Homebased ECE Providers.
We were very lucky to have found initial ‘champion’ centres who understood new technology and were ready to give it a go; they invested their valuable time helping us bring it to a level where it has brought fresh new ways of doing mundane tasks. With their active engagement, we have achieved several milestones in the last 6 to 8 months, offering some premium features.
Our mission is to bring the best technology solutions to ECE Providers at an affordable pricing.
The Juniorlogs team will listen to you actively. We are one of the fastest evolving childcare management systems in NZ today.
